Kate Wallace

Kate serves as both President of Basepoint Wealth and a Senior Wealth Advisor with over 20 years experience developing and supporting the financial plans of families and small business owners. As a managing partner, Kate values the amazing team Basepoint has created and cheers on their success, hard work and ongoing development. 

Stating the reason why she got into the finance business, "My degree from Cornell is in Psychology and Secondary Education. I always wanted to be a teacher. I remember the first time I taught a neighborhood friend to ride his bike without training wheels; it was so satisfying! Although I didn’t end up teaching high schoolers, what I love about my career is the same feeling I get today when I help someone achieve a financial goal. It is very fulfilling to be a part of the process".

Kate and her husband Allen enjoy spending time with their three children, extended family, and friends. Kate is a fixture at Orangetheory Fitness, plays competitive tennis, recreational pickleball, roots on Iowa Hawkeye Athletics, and loves watching Tom Hanks movies.  She is currently enjoying learning about ancient Egypt history and culture.

Kate recently completed a six year term on the board of directors of the CR Metro YMCA. She currently serves on the advisory committee for the new Marion YMCA and Community Center.  Kate enjoys volunteering with HACAP (Hawkeye Area Community Action Program) and also served as a former board member of the Professional Women’s Network (PWN).
