John Carstensen

Raised in Marion, Iowa and a proud Finance graduate of the University of Iowa, John has proved himself to be a valuable addition to the investment research and management department. John is a shining illustration of what is possible when hard work is combined with intense intellectual curiosity. He is a true team player, always willing to do what is necessary for progress to be made without regard to personal recognition.

Currently his team is responsible for management of $520 million in client assets.  He enjoys the variety of his daily responsibilities and that each day comes with new challenges and opportunities. John embraces continuous learning opportunities and gaining additional industry knowledge. Outside of Basepoint, you can find John diligently studying for the CFA exam.

In his free time, he prioritizes time with his family & friends, being active outdoors, golfing, snowboarding, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
